Getting started
From download to launching the game in a few minutes.
Download
Section titled “Download”Official builds are published only on the GitHub Releases page. Every release includes a SHA256SUMS file for integrity verification.
| Platform | Package | File |
|---|---|---|
| Windows x64 | Installer (shortcuts and uninstaller included) | *-windows-amd64-installer.exe |
| Windows x64 | Portable (no installation) | *-windows-amd64-portable.zip |
| Debian / Ubuntu x64 | .deb package (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, and compatible) | *-linux-amd64.deb |
| Fedora / RPM x64 | .rpm package (Fedora and RPM-compatible) | *-linux-amd64.rpm |
| Other Linux x64 | Portable archive (requires GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1) | *-linux-amd64.tar.gz |
Integrity check
Section titled “Integrity check”Compare the downloaded file’s SHA-256 with the value from SHA256SUMS:
# Linuxsha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
# Windows (PowerShell)Get-FileHash .\waxlight-*-windows-amd64-installer.exe -Algorithm SHA256SHA-256 confirms the file is byte-identical to the release artifact but does not authenticate the publisher. That is what the Authenticode signature is for — see the code signing policy.
